The Bog of Frogs Trail

Howth is full of magical walks. But the Bog of frogs loop might just be the most enchanting.

A challenging 12 Kilometre walk full of views of the Lighthouse, the cliffs, the gold courses, Dublin Bay, beaches plus a very underrated part of Howth flora, the rich woodlands

The Tramline loop

Although you'll get a great view of the lighthouse and the cliffs this particular walk brings you down through the housing estates in and around the village onto a more private path before eventually leading you down onto the harbour.

The Black Linn Loop

The Black Linn Loop is one of the peaks we have here on Howth Head with a height of 171 metres.

​

Which makes it more of a hike than a climb.

The Cliff Path Loop

Experience the best panoramic views in Dublin Bay on this cliff trail. 

​

keep an eye out for some porpoises and dolphins when up around our beautiful Baily Lighthouse. Recently we've even had some sightings of fin whales.

Howth Harbour

Go for one of the most beautiful strolls in Howth along the east pier.

​

Moreover, grab a bite to eat on the West Pier.

​

Or do you want to do something mor adventurous? 

​

Catch a ferry at the end of the West Pier and explore Ireland's Eye for a few hours or perhaps go on the boat trip.

The Hurdy Gurdy Radio Museum

The Hurdy Gurdy Radio Museum is located in the Dublin's only renovated Martello Tower

​

The museum is open daily from May to October. Where you will receive a guided tour by Pat himself and his generous team of volunteers who will happily give introductions about the laid out equipment.

Howth castle & Gardens

Howth castle and estate is known to be one of the longest ancestral homes of one of the oldest Irish Families in Ireland.

​

The estate is littered with some of the most beautiful heathland and flora that Howth can offer its visitors.

​

Known for its beautiful rhododendron gardens. There must see for anyone during their bloom. They have huge bright mauve, purple, pink and red flowers during the months of May, June as well as July.

​

Many of the walks featured also feature the Castle so make a day of it!

The National Transport Museum

Sixty out of 100 vehicles currently in Howth are on display. Others can be expected by pre-booking.

​

The oldest items date from 1883 whilst the newest one is from 1984.

​

Howth isn't just rich in maritime history. The National Transport Museum strives to collect and preserve the vehicles that no longer regarded as they once were.
